Day 18-ish for buttons?!?!?!

My buttons are finally hatching!! I set these 3 days after I set my coturnix, since buttons are supposed to take 15 days, as opposed to coturnix's 18 days. The coturnix are almost 3 days old, and at last count there are 4 new button babies! Silly birds, they don't know what they want to do!

I just had someone who got my eggs and they did not hatch until day 21. Anyone want to bet that bator is running a little cool!

I know mine's not, the coturnix hatched on day 18 as scheduled, and my bator is a forced-air hova. I guess these guys just wanted to take their time! There was 1 that hatched the day before the coturnix did, so on day 14-ish, but the rest waited. But that's just like the eggs my hen was on. I know she sat for about 3 weeks, and the first baby hatched 2 days after I took her eggs away! So that one took a good 21 days to hatch as well.

just goes to show you (others) to never give up on eggs unless you're 100% sure they aren't developing
