I don't know how many days for chickens. I just hatch ducks. But you can put them on the wire or put them in a carton either one. I just tried a carton for the first time and liked it. I cut the lid off and only needed space for 7, so cut it down to size. I also cut a hole in the bottom ( I thought this might help if any pipped from the wrong end) but none did. Good luck with your hatching!!! Please post pictures when they hatch... : )

ohh i hope all goes well they are american game chicks & i really want them ...how ever my luck i will get all roos ..

Try the egg carton if you want, i would, if i have an egg turner. There is no bad way to do it, all experiments and what works best for you and your bator. Paper towels on wire...i don't like the wire...bottoms if not totally healed tend to drag on mesh and it is a bloody mess. I have used a bath tub liner with holes in it for my bator, on top of wire the last time.Lock it with the right humidity and do not touch it...So happy for you!!! Good luck!!
