I have a Brinsea 20 eco, I for got to remove the dividers, but thats not my biggest concern. I have both troughs filled but not sure what the humidity is. The humidity device is so big I cant leave it in there, so should I open it pull the dividers real quick and put the humidity device in there. Than later pull it out. or just leave it alone?
Im due late tomorrow or Sunday I set at 8:00 PM Sunday the 10th and I have one small pep now.

Any advice from you experts, this is my first hatch.

A quick 10-15 second open won't hurt, if you have a spray bottle, have it filled with warm water and mist the eggs just before closing up again, it will help replace any lost humidity.

Sorry for my ignorance here, but wouldn't the humidity be drastically off if the lid is opened?

I picked a flukers hygrometer (hydrometer?) at the pet store in the reptile section for under $10 I think. It's round and fits perfectly in an egg spot...maybe that would work? Of course, I'm doing my first hatch right now so I probably shouldn't be offering advice.

Do you have any condensation on the windows at all? My last hatch I did without the hygrometer because it simply would not calibrate. I too have on of the reptile ones for this hatch. But the last one kept a tiny bit of condensation along the side of the window. That at least let me know there was SOME humidty that was more than what I had throughout the incubation before lockdown. Paper towels and sponges under the grate. And from there I only added water one more time when the condensation went away. A small amount of water.

That is all I can tell you. You very best bet is to have something inside that shows the humidity. That small hygrometer fills the ticket, very cheap and you can get it at a pet store.

Otherwise you are just winging it.

A very tiny bit of condensation I may add some watter to a sponge tomorrow afternoon...............Thanks.
