Day 19 and no movement or peeps

My third chick made it out at 3:30 this morning. She has shell pieces stuck to her back, and appears to have some of the membrane wrapped around her. she is moving around fine. I don't see any pipping or movement from the remaining 12 eggs. I guess time will tell.Should i worry about the shells, and membrane stuck to the third chick?

No, I wouldn't worry. Usually the membrane and shell pieces dry up and fall off in several hours. Post pictures!

They are bowling! Lol! I placed my eggs in egg cartons at lockdown to prevent that from happening. I would just leave the chicks to "bowl" so you won't disturb the heat and humidity. Sometimes the already hatched-chicks help the others out, so I would leave them be.

I questioned this too. Thanks for the answer!!

:) i have 9 beautiful baby fuzzbutts. 8 black australorp and silver laced wyandotte chicks and 1 white silkie chick. Does anyong know how to tell black australorp chicks and silver laced wyandotte chicks apart?

my eggs finally hatched some on day 22, some on day 23 the last one to hatch was little blue one in the middle lower she had shell connected by cords, and kept kicking to get off that lower shell I carefully remove the lower shell but left the cords and the stuff connected, I put her in a sock so other chicks would not peck and went to bed. in the AM she had crawled out of the sock but died. If I didn't go back to bed I could have helped more, but I was so tired.

All other chicks are happy and playing with 5 othere chicks I bought.

photos soon I just have to down load.

My silkie was the last to hatch... and the other chicks keep pushing her over.... can they hurt her?

I have separated the big chicks that are 5 day olds from my newbies. I left the bantams.

I did lose a mille'flur that way once. he was the littlest.
