Day 19 and no signs of movement even after seeing veins prior to lockdown... HELP!!!

Hi there,

I decided to start on my hatching journey 19 days ago, and I bought 12 quail eggs. I added in water and used the correct temperature however I didn't measure them accurately, I don't believe. I candled them prior to lockdown and about 6-7 seemed to be developing. It is day 19 today, at 8:21PM and there are NO SINGS OF LIFE. I have already bought everything needed and yet none of them seem to be rocking or pipping! Should I be worrying?! If they hatch I shall update you! Thank you.

I have never hatched quails but sometimes my chicken eggs do this and they still hatch I'll be praying for them! @Kiki @Nabiki

The no signs of life doesn't sound good. No pips at all? If conditions were right, they should have hatched on day 17. It is possible that a few might hatch still, but I'd give up if you don't have any chicks by tomorrow. If you can't see anything when you candle, try holding it up to your ear and tapping. If there's a live chick in there, you should hear tapping and maybe cheeps in return.

Did you trust your incubator? That's the usual beginner's mistake (I did it too). Never, ever trust the incubator's temperature and humidity readings. Always have a couple calibrated thremometers in there and a good hygrometer.

Just to verify, these are coturnix quail eggs, right? There are some types of quail that have longer incubation periods.

Did you calibrate a separately purchased thermometer to make sure your incubator was running at the correct temperature?
