Day 19, I can’t contain myself 😂

Some people really worry about that but I don't.
It’s hard to see but there’s a crack at the bottom of this egg in front, and chick keeps laying there! Can’t see a hole in the membrane which I assumed there would be if there was shell missing?! I’m really stressing out!

I’m kind of confused about your question, but are you worried that the chick laying on the egg will be an issue? I’ve had chicks do that all the time, in my batches it seems to me like they are trying to encourage them to come out but I’m not really sure.

Yes. I don’t want it to suffocate it when it comes out..?

Also, it’s been around 16-18 hours since this one hatched and it’s been cheeping SO LOUD, pecking the sides and seeming quite agitated.

There has been no more pipping from the other 3 since this morning (it’s 8.20pm now)

Also, our new incubator has just arrived which is hopefully better than this one, we can see more clearly for one!

Ambient humidity is 41% will this be ok for the new eggs going in this weekend? I can fill up the second bottle to make the lockdown humidity higher apparently. I’m just trying to get this one set and ready.

Also the one which has hatched is pecking at the shell on the floor of the incubator… is that ok??

I wouldn’t get too worried about it. We can’t control everything that the chicks do and more than likely he won’t cause any harm. I’ve learned that for the most part to just let them be.

Is there any movement from the pipped egg? Any sounds?

Most people don’t like to open the incubator at all, but I’ve always taken dry chicks out if they’ve been in for a long time and are getting rowdy, so it’s up to you.

We have another one! Hatched in the last 40 minutes ❤️

And I think we’ll have a third by morning…🤞🏻
