day 19, need urgent help plz

hi it's day 19 and my hen stop sitting on eggs. she just standing in the nest box over eggs and not sitting on them. i didn't listen any pip at all. what i do? and when i go near to her she fluffed up her all feathers and making noice like she warned me. plz tell me thx

Did she get back on the eggs? Did the eggs feel warm? The broodies do get off once a day to eat, poop, stretch their legs, etc.

If she doesn't get back to the eggs, do you have another broody you can put them under? Maybe a friend with an incubator?

I'd just leave her be. If she's still standing over the eggs and fluffing up when you come near, she's still broody. She might just be up stretching her legs. She maybe was either getting ready to go eat for a bit, or just got back to the nest.

I agree, some times a hen gets off their nest to eat or what ever, people can get worried and try and chase a hen to put her back on the nest- but that can make her lose her hatching hormones.

Lots of my hens get up when we humans think they should be on lockdown. I've gone to the coop to find hens off of pipped/nearly hatched eggs and they ended up being just fine.
Some of my hens also tend to "hover" over eggs that are chirping/hatching. I've caught them lifting up and settling back down when the action starts. I wouldn't bother her, they usually know what they're doing

It's what my broody did, and the eggs were fine. In fact, she sat on the other side of the coop! Just remember, she probably knows what she's doing!
