Day 2 Incubation - Completely Rotten Seeping Smelly Egg

When I put some of our eggs in the bator I pondered whether to clean or not (some were slightly soiled). Then I figured if they were in the nest with Mama how would she have cleaned them??? I left them as they were and most of them hatched with no problem.

A little smudge of poo is one thing. A crusty clump (or more) of poo is something entirely different.

It's been about an hour. I just lifted the lid and took a whiff and the smell is back to normal. Now I'm not a gambling lady but I'd lay bets, if I had not found that nasty egg tonight, I might not have had a lot of time left before it exploded.
