Day 20–Humidity down to 58

[Hilltop Flock]

I am on day 20 of incubation and this morning my humidity dropped from 70 to 58 over the course of about 4 hours. Of 15 eggs, 1 has hatched and 12 others have externally pipped now.

This is only my second hatch and I’m worried I have shrink wrapped them bc I can see the membrane of one has pulled away from the shell...in a way I don’t remember seeing last time.

Another one looks this way too.

Am I worrying about nothing?

The membrane is turning kinda brown, but the chick can breathe. The humidity is now at 73.

It sounds like you have the humidity up now (a dip to 58 shouldn't affect it much). They should be fine. If the ones that look brown don't make progress just put a vegetable type oil on the exposed membrane. Be patient and good luck.

I only hatch under broody hens. Sorry. I can't help.
