This is my first try at a staggered hatch. I didn't want to do it this way but there was a misunderstanding with the lady who was saving eggs for me. Anyway I have 16 to hatch tomorrow and four have piped today. I think three of them are from the same hen as they are identical light tan color. I believe this may have been the Buff Orpington. The Banty eggs and Ameracauna are still holding out. My fingers are crossed for a good hatch.
One question though for those who do staggered hatches, will it hurt the other dozen eggs in there to not be turned for a day or so? I can't risk opening the incubator to give them a roll.
The nine chicks from my first hatch are now three weeks old. The farmer who gave me the eggs stopped over to see them and said it looked like I have 6 roosters and three hens.
Happy Fourth of July!!

Congrats on the chicks that hatched! I hope the rest hatch out soon, too.

If the other eggs are 18 days or older, it wouldn't hurt them if you didn't turn them for a day or so, but that's because you aren't suppose to turn them anymore once they are at day 18 anyway.

You are suppose to turn the eggs at least 3 times a day, the more you turn them the better. So yes, it would be bad if you didn't turn them for a day or so. In case you don't know, the reason why you turn the eggs is so the yolk won't stick to one side of the egg.

So somehow you're going to have to turn those eggs.
Good luck and happy 4th of July!
