Excellent! Thanks for clearing up the confusion. I just had a first time broody sit on 9 while I had another stash of eggs in the incubator. Rather than pull hatched chicks from incubator and place the chicks into a brooder, I gave them to the broody as each was born, some still wet (I live in a tropical climate so there was no danger of becoming too cold). She's sporting a brood of 23 chicks and is the absolute best momma hen. I'm so glad that this young hen was up for adopting these chicks as they'll now have the absolute best crash course on how to be a chicken that you can possibly get. Not all broody hens are created equal, many will not adopt. My hen has been broody. I stuck some eggs under her to hatch 21 days ago. They hatched today. I also for fun hatched some eggs in the incubator. She will raise hers and I’ll raise mine.
