day 20 for my incubator Welsummers, BSL, BLRW

(Post started on) day 18 for my eggs and some BLRW eggs from vicki2x2.
I had one rotten egg, it cracked and was bubbling and I could smell it. I took it out and I'm hopping all the rest are okay.

Hey! I'm on day 15 with your eggs. It looks like 3 of the Wellies are good and 10 of the BSLs! I'm super excited. Will I be able to tell the Wellies from the project babies? I know the males will be black, but are the females black, too?

Hi Sharon,

Just wanted to give you an update... So far I've had 2 hatch from your eggs today. They were both black with white head spots. Funny, I think this is the only time I've hatched where I actually wanted roos!

I have 5 more pips, but nothing on the Wellies yet. Hopefully they will get the message and start popping out of their shells! I only have 3 wellie eggs, but I have 10 BSLs. 7 of which have pipped, leaving 3 with no action yet. Come on babies!!!!!!!!!

I also hatched out a really cute Blue egg laying Ameracauan that I hope is a hen, but a roo is okay, too! LOL....

I hope everything went well with your hatch! I also hope your hubby's hand/wrist is healing well!!!

My BSL's hatched great I got 10 of 11 7 pullets 3 roos all blacks.
1 beautiful BLRW
I had a humidity problem in the bator with my welsummer eggs
I had 4 chicks hatch and the rest piped the air cell and died.

Thats funnie I know you always hope for a high pullet over roo hatch and when your wanting roos you only get a few.

I have blue black splash Ameraucana eggs under a broody from dipsey. Who did you get Blue eggs from?

I now have 2 roos and 1 pullet. I don't know if she is black, but she has alot of light color to her. I will post a picture when she dries off and fluffs up.

I got my Blue eggs from rbamterry. She is in Arkansas. Her eggs were pretty scrambled when I got them and I had 2 that were cracked, but I couldn't tell until my last candling. Got to love the PO! Oh well... I found a lady locally that will sell them to me for $5 a dozen! Yay!!!!!

So, did your wellies pip the shell, too, or did they just pip the air cell? I have 5 right now that have pips, but they are slow going on the zips. I get worried sometimes... You know how it is! I have my humidity at 60%, so I should be good. And my thermostat has been great!

I will keep you posted on the final count!

They just pip the air cell, the shell was never touched.
I'm not sure what happened this time, my last hatch was great.
I dry incubate, till day 18 and up the humidity. My humidity was at 53 % and I couldn't get it higher. The 4 chicks hatched fine.
I use 2 incubators, the 1 I run all the eggs in till day 18 in the auto turner. I take out the turner and divide the eggs half stay in #1 the other half go in #2. I like this best because of the number of chicks hatching and the bator gets full and the chicks get hot. Also I hate to open the bator to unload chicks when others haven't hatched yet. #2 bator the humidity was right on and the chicks hatched out no problems.
Also I can do staggered hatching's if I want. I haven't done one yet but plan to when my marans start laying.
