Day 20 for this weeks hatch...

Hi! It's Day 20 for this weeks hatch and first chick out is a Silkie:

*Should* be a blue or splash 'cause the roo is splash and the hens are blue and splash, but looks suspiciously dark.

Oooh, hatching chicks... I'm SO suffering from spring hatchin' fever! I had ordered Ameraucana eggs from you last year, and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE my chicks! I wound up with a VERY sweet splash roo, a blue roo, and 3 blue pullets. They're absolutely beautiful! My neighbor loves the splash roo so much that she's named him Hawk and claimed him as her own! I'm SO glad I ordered eggs from you!

Hi Eve! Glad you are enjoying them! They are some of my favorites, even though they are silly, timid birds.
Hi Kathy! It does still look dark after it dried a bit, but it has to be a blue.
Another small group in the hatcher this week --- an egg from the Cuckoo/blue Cuckoo green-egger pen, and an egg from the blue/splash frizz NN green-egger pen, that Silkie egg, and 2 Ameraucana.
I put a thermometer in my 'old reliable' LG a few weeks ago and temp was running a degree high, so I dialed it back to 99.5 *exactly* at egg height. I'm pondering whether to kick it back to where it was (by kick, I mean it was a twitch on the dial).
Looks like the rest are going to be Day 21 chicks.

Still waiting for the lone unknown duck egg to hatch. It has internally pipped, but dragggging.
