Day 20 incubator came unplugged. Eggs temp dropped for several hours!!

Thank you! I thought so too. I haven't hatched for years and never gotting them through the mail and I am pleased!

Glad to hear some of your babies have hatched. I also had a problem with my homemade hatcher which caused the temps to drop on my eggs, but after transferring them back to my incubator I had one of them hatch last night. So hard to be patient so close to the end, but it's worth it.

Thanks! I agree especially on day 20 to find out that the temp. was so for several hours! I am so glad I posted, because I thought they were doomed! And to have so many hatch was so exciting!!

I am on day 21 now, I have one chick and 3 pips. 1 doing nothing. I had the same thing. everything was great all along, then the day before hatch I woke up and the temp was 77. I couldnt do anything about it because I had to leave for the day(long day) I was afraid if I turned up the dial I would come home to high temps. I left it and the temp was still only 98 when I got home. I was finally able to get it back up then. I am hoping to have at least 4 chicks in the bator in the morning. I started with 6 serama eggs, one I think was infertile, and the other 5 made it so far. good luck with your hatch......

I heard with Serama's they are hard to hatch as it is. Sounds like you are doing pretty well considering?) We are so careful to do everything right to hatch them. They I was thinking after the problem and thought the hens get off and leave them for a while so I guess temp. fluctuation isn't that bad. But hours I would have thought would have been not so good??
Good luck with your babes!
