Day 20 No Action, Going Crazy

The 3rd one pipped about an hour ago, 5 hrs into day 21, in the right position by the looks of it
The others haven't made any progress in 9 hours. Just the cracks & dents from earlier. It being my first time incubating...and because I don't plan on doing it again....I really don't want to miss anything :( so I think I'm going to wake myself up every couple of hours...

I figure since it's been 8 hours already and a lot of people seem to say within 24 hours they hatch, statistically one would hatch over night, by morning around 9am t'll have been 20 hours since first pip.

Fingers crossed to hopefully having some healthy chicks in the morning and atleast a few hours of rest hahah

What happens if you lock down but your eggs are really late>? Will that mean that your locking them down by default making it somewhat early will screw them up?

First one hatched! Had a feeling, he was the last one to pip. I got up every three hours and just missed it!! How long until they can stand? His toes look curled. :/ I've seen people use tape to straighten them out, hopefully I'm just over worried

Cute! I had to do boots on one of my chicks for curled toes. I tried with the cardboard and bandaids but it was too hard to get the toes straight, so I used medical tape. There's a good video on YouTube if you search, you basically put the tape upside down on the table and curl the ends under so it's anchored to the table and straighten out the toes and place on the tape, and put another piece of tape on top and carefully trim.

We locked down our chick eggs yesterday & talk about worrying! This is our first time & so many questions are running through my head. Mainly questioning if they are living as I haven’t seen movement or heard anything yet. Just trying to leave them alone. Guess I will find out in a couple of days, but this is rough! Hope you have been successful!

Update- All three that made it to lockdown hatched. I sat infront of the incubator from 6am to 3pm watching :D The last one had a rough time, 24 hrs from pip to hatch and she was smaller, weaker and floppier than the others, but she has bounced back. I hope that your hatch goes well! What a rollercoaster the last few weeks were....I really hope they are hens!
