Getting anxious... When I locked down on day 18, I candled and there was movement. When should I start seeing signs that the chicks are still live? I have 3 that should hatch... :fl

You can tap your incubator and cheep at them. Listen closely and they may cheep back. They still have a day. Just cross your fingers and take a deep breath.
Thank you! I did not hear chirps, however, I put a flashlight on them and 2 of the 3 moved!! Hopefully, the other will follow suit.

Some are slower than others. Make sure not to open the bator. Did you increase your humidity?

:fl For you!
Yes, the Humidity is at 73+ -- just had a power outage and took about 30 minutes to hook up generator so hope all will be okay

I ended up having multiple outages and humidity drops... I have no movement in the eggs at all. I did yesterday am. How and when should I check to see if still viable?
Day 21

No experience other than my own of today (see 'catastrophic error' thread). Have no movement at all at day 21. Candled, egg sacks smaller than expected and no movement of chicks so decided non-viable. Opened one it is was very much alive just a couple of days behind where it should be. Possibly because of low temps. Really wish I'd just left them alone for a few more days. I have the other three eggs back in there and hoping against hope. good luck!

Oh, that is encouraging for me -- so sorry for your loss! gaining knowledge is bound to follow a few mishaps...

What did the humidity drop to? And did it come back up? I'd leave them until day 22. They might surprise you.
