Day 20! They're PEEPING at MEEE!!!- UPDATE 13 babies!!!!

Final stretch of my first hatch ever!! Homemade bator. 17 eggs, started with 24!! went on lockdown yesterday in the afternoon. All was calm and silent, I can't keep my eye's off of the bator(NO HANDS!!), and they're starting to peep at meeeee, also I hear tapping!!!!! I'm soooo exciteddd

!! I hope they hatch without complications

!!! One can even come early to keep me occupied if it wants!!!

I've got 4 BCM, 1 or 2 EE and the rest are mutts!!! Hoping for a BCM Roo and an EE Roo!!! I know, odd-ball here hoping for some Roo's!! but I WANT BABY CHICKENS NOWWW!!! well 3 weeks ago for that matter!!

YAY!!! I love when they start talking. I can never seem to be able to drag myself away from the incubator once they pip. I love watching the eggs rocking and moving around too-

I can often be found sitting at the incubator saying peep peep peep peep when mine start hatching.

Good luck... I will check the tread for your updates..... Come on little chickies.....

You're giving me great encouragement here CrazyCatNChickenLady, as I'm also getting ready to embark on my first adventure into hatching. If I can just get the flipping temperature regulated!

And as crazy as this may seem to others, I want a couple of roo's too!!

duckyfromoz: Might as well just glue my butt to the seat in front of the bator!! I've been in there peeping away at them!! I guess you can tell I'm lonely, I'm talking to my unhatched chicks!!!

serrin: It took me a couple days to get the temps right before I set my eggs!! If only you knew how I have my bator rigged!! No homemade bator is complete without duct tape in my opinion!!! I got the eggs for free so I was also a serial-candler

!! I think I looked at them every day! After day 3 I only lost 1 egg due to a few couple-hour power-outages, and the glorious temp spikes that I caught quickly!!!! So I'm hoping a good number hatch out!!

haha!! No! I WISH!!! I could see the ones that were starting to grow at day 3, tiny little 'spider' veins! 19 of them(then I accadentally dropped one beyond repair at about 7 days

)! I had a really bright light! an old projecter with a homemade cone looking thing(hope I didnt blind the poor things!) but lost the one I dropped and another after the power outtages(it started to get smelly so I tossed it!) and upon eggtopsies of the other 5 I just couldn't tell what was going on. looked like a plain egg, no blood rings, no growth, couldn't even tell if they were fertile they had really fragile yolks! a few pourousy aracuana X's and 1 standard brown egg lost! So 17 were still good before lockdown!
