Day 21: 1 zipping

He is getting more active. He has bits of membrane stuck to his head and right wing. Is it okay to leave to on until it wears off?

I would leave it alone until he dries out and gets fluffy. Then you can pull it off with less worry about tearing the skin. Do you think he's the only one that will hatch?

I sure hope not. His bunch whent in a 5:45 pm, Jan 23. So there is plenty of time for the others to hatch out.

Cool. I've had chicks pip and hang out for almost a whole day before zipping so just give them time and if at all possible, don't open the bator.

Am I lecturing enough? Just call me Clown Puncher.

I cheated and added water to restore the humidity level lost by opening. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Ditto on what the others say. Don't open the bator again. I'll add my own two cents-- leave them be, they could take 24 hours from pip to zip and more.... Sit on your hands, watch in awe and keep your fingers crossed ( you may remove hands from where they are to cross fingers, but immediately sit on them again once crossed!)

It has been about 4 or 5 years since I have done the incubator thing. It is like being a rookie again.
