I'm not sure if my broody hen gets up or not but I do bring her the water and let her get a few drinks and then I set alittle food next to her and she eats. She is still sitting and this is day 24.I still don't hear anything and I want to wait just one more day to see if any of them pip.I'm worried but don't understand what could have gone wrong. She sits on 5 that I know are fully developed so here's hoping today I will go out there to hear little peeps and heads pop out from under her.

I'm sorry that you also lost yours, I know how you feel. Except for I lost 4 instead of 2

Maybe thats why mom left the nest, because she knew that they had died?????

We have 4 chicks now! 3 yellow and 1 gray. The daddy is a white cochin rooster and the mom is either a red star or buff orpington. They all have feathers on the feet but the gray one has the least amount but still very cute! We have 1 more egg to hatch yet! Best part about this is it's my daughters birthday!

They are just adorable! How is #5 doing???? Hatching yet?
The mommy looks more like a Red Star because she's too red to be a buff orpington

I wonder what color the gray one will be? Blue, Lavender, or Black maybe???

Only 1 of the chicks is actually hers. The others came from 4 different hens.I just slipped them under her all the same day.The other hens were red stars and buff orpingtons so either or.I think the gray is from the barred rock or Delaware they cross to make a red star.
