I have the Hovabator Genesis 1588. On the day 18th, I filled all the bottom section as much water it would hold but humidity wasn't increasing more than 60%. So I decided to add some wet paper towel (soaked in semi hot water) which spiked the humidity to 80% .. and kept steady at 75% after few hours.

This morning about 9AM (40 min ago) , this guy came out

But Humidity dropped to 65% (which is strange as I thought after the chicks start to hatch, humidity should increase). Anyway, should I add some more wet paper towel or just keep my hands off at the moment? I see 2-3 more starting to chip .. or peep

Thanks!

I always keep my humidity at 65% for lock down, no higher. I would say they should be ok with it around 65-70. I've had some drown if you get it too high.

good luck!

OK, thanks for the response. I am now afraid as the humidity spike since the 3rd chick's arrival to about 80% .. hope I'm not drowning the other eggs
