Day 21 Cluckmazing Fact

 CLUCMAZING FACT~ A lightweight chicken releases about 120 pounds of droppings per year, heavy breed averages 180 pounds; and chickens poop even when they’re asleep!!!

As someone who cleans their coop and run every day, and shovels up every single bit of chicken poop (and I only have four chickens), I think your numbers are a little low. :p

Lol it feels like it. It's about an average.

Hehe, I know. I was making a joke. I did SO MUCH research about chickens before I bought them (3 years of intensively studying this site and books), but for some reason, I never knew the exact statistic until just a few months ago. People always said chickens pooped "a lot", but no one ever quantified that. Had I realized exactly how much chickens poop before I built my coop/run, I would have done a few things differently!

I mean there are around 1 Billion cows in the world. About 22.85 billion chickens. So it really adds up.
I wonder how many chickens it takes to make the same amount of manure as a cow produces in a year. Without doing the math A LOT :th
