Day 21. No signs of life

This is my first time using a Brinsea Mini Eco II Manuel turning. Some of the eggs had dark forms in them when I candled, but didn't look like the pictures. The clear areas on mine seemed too large. I'm so afraid I did something wrong.

The clear area in the air sac or do you mean the liquid area seemed too clear (like the chick stopped growing and died)?

I'm not sure. Not experienced in candling. Would take a pic but am afraid of hurting anything that might be there. It could be that the eco II incubator was a poor choice. Also the eggs were shipped. Maybe I should just wait a week. ...dreadful

Oh no!! I picked egg up to candle.
It peeped. I hope that I didn't hurt it. Thought it was a dead egg.

No, I meant that today is hatchday.
But I read that some chicks take longer. Since posting I did more research and read that peeping begins when the internal membrane (air sack) has been pipped. I'm waiting patiently. Thanks PS the educational post I read was by Sally sunshine on BYC

Ah okay yes I was going to say your timeline is off lol

Hooray! The chirping egg hatched. It's a Hedemora. Now I worry about it being the only egg to hatch so far.

I am beyond upset. Moved the two little hatches from the incubator to brooder. They cried so much I put them back. It killed the healthy one. Stupid me.

It may have been destined to die regardless. I can't see how that would have killed it unless your brooder is not set up correctly, temperature wise.
