First time chicken egg hatcher here. I'm on day 21 and have a pip on one of my eggs. I noticed the pip at 8am and so far no change at 1pm except I feel like the egg has turned a little bit like maybe rolled a tiny bit lol I know not to open the lid and it can take hours but generally how long until I should start to see a change or zipping? Some pics of my pip 🥰

Thankyou :) I lost a baby a couple of days ago Which I think pipped too early so now I'm scared I'll loose the remaining 2 and my 4 year old keeps talking to it through the lid asking for it to please be alive haha

It can take 24 hrs from pip to zip.......

what is your humidity at? there shouldn't be condensation on the sides of the incubator. that normally means humidity is too high.

Humidity says 69% and temp is at 37.4 degrees Celsius a lady on another post told me to put temp at 37.4 and Humidity between 70 and 72% is this right? This is what it's been at since lockdown

each incubator is different. Do you have a calibrated hygrometer in there or going by what the incubator says? those can be off sometimes. I THINK I read on another thread if there is condensation then most likely humidity is over 80.... But I am not sure on that. I just know there shouldn't be condensation in there.

I'm using a back up incubator until I can order one with built in ones. The incubator only has a temp setting so I brought a thermometer that has a humidity % aswell but I cant manually change the humidity... there was a lot more condensation in the 1pm pic, it has gone down a little now

did you calibrate the one that you got? even if you can't change it you can calibrate it and know that it is off (either high or low) by x amt and add or subtract that from what it says. So say you calibrate it and find that it reads 5% too low then you know to have it set to read 65 instead of 70 (or whatever it should be) . I don't have a still air so not sure what that should be.
