Over the years I haven't had much luck with helping them to hatch. I've had a few survivors but those were mainly ones that had already made a lot of progress on their own before things came to a standstill. Every hatch I try to remind myself that if they aren't strong enough to hatch on their own, they probably aren't gonna make it even if I help them out. I know very well that that is easier said than done. I still find myself helping on occasion and hoping for the best. Don't give up!!
Hi all. Thank you so much for all the kindness, it is amazing how reading your posts can be so comforting.
I have no chicks from this hatch yet, day 23. I still have one egg that pipped last night after midnight, and it is making no progress, but I am all hands off on this one.
The other chick was too underdeveloped (young?). It still had a bit of yolk on the outside, smaller than a pencil eraser. I'll be sad for awhile, but hoping things will go better with this last egg.
I will try buying eggs again after a little while.
i will keep my finger crossed on this last egg.
it would be such a gift at this point to get a little chick now wouldn't it?
i'm sending those good vibes to ya now.
please keep posting because i check this strand every time i log on.
Just have Patience that the chick knows when to stop and start pipping on it's own.....day 21 is not set in stone for hatching chicks...lots of different things can be going on..low temp, high temp, low or high humidity....everyones house is different....I've heard of hatchings from day 19 to day 25..... Hoping your chick makes it out !!..fingers crossed
