Day 22 is just starting and no sign of anything happening. I'm super stressed! This is my first time attempting to hatch. I followed all instructions perfectly. Can someone please try to assure me there's still hope?

What breed are you hatching? Did they candle good? I've had some hatch out several days late. That's usually a sign of having the temp to low.

It also makes a huge difference what incubator you're using. But don't worry, hatching chicks is a big gamble, and sometimes the odds are just plain against you. Keep us updated :)

Some eggs take 18 days to hatch whereas some eggs can be up to 35 days. I would candle them standard chickens should be 21 days. Make certain that the chicks are alive in the eggs cuse they could explode. One way I've heard is set the eggs out for about a minute and if there is chicks in the eggs that is alive they will keep their body temperature. I tried this with my goose eggs and they exploded in my living room. I use actual hens to hatch out eggs now.

I'm using a little giant incubator with a fan and turner. I took the turner out at day 18. I'm hatching RIR and a few barnyard mixes. The temp has been 99.5. Humidity was 45-50 the first 18 days but it has hovered between 75 and 80 since day 15. I can't hear any chirping if I put my ear to the incubator and there's no movement of the eggs either.

Do not open the incubator no matter how much you want to. Put your head down near the incubator tap on it and say something like "hey" loudly, you should hopefully hear chirping or see egg movement. No egg movement or noises isn't always bad I just had 5 chicks hatch last night on day 22 that showed no signs of hatching then i woke up this morning and they were running around the incubator.

I have tried talking to them, playing other baby chick noises for them, laying my head on it and listening, etc. There's definitely no movement and no chirping. :(
