Day 22. . . C'mon egg!! :)

I did the float test last night all looked good but one and about an hour later I had a pip. today is by my set date day 24

What is the float test? How do you do that?

Put warm water in bowl, aprox 100 degree. carefully put eggs in water big side up. Wait for them to wiggle! if they sunk on the bottom of bowl, dud eggs.

I will float test tonight. I want to get incubator cleaned out and ready to put more eggs in this weekend Going to hopefully pick up maybe 2 blue laced red wyandotte eggs to stick in with my EE eggs(from the rooster in my profile pic and my 2 red sex link hens, so just some mutt easter eggers lol)

Did float test and wasnt good. so i opened it up. Chick had developed all the way, probably made it to day 20-21, maybe drowned?? Went and picked up a few eggs to stick in with my own eggs tomorrow, putting in 13. 8 EE(blue wheaten mixed with brown/red Roo, Red star hens), 2 Auburn java, and 3 blue laced red wyandottes. I am only going to keep probably 3 of these.
