Mottling is when the chick has died and the egg starts to decay, mottling can look a lot like veins. It's unusual for the aircell to be dark.

ok so i think its dead bc theres are bubbles on top of the duck egg and it stink so i place it outside and its dead so if theres anything i can do just tell if i could save it prob not tho

Im sorry about the egg.
I know you said your aunt gave you this egg, as you wanted a duck- but just a word of caution- ducks are an enormous commitment, they can live over 10 years and are incredibly messy and expensive animals. Most are pretty timid too and need other ducks to live happily. They're adorable and sweet, but please make sure you're ready before taking on the commitment. Sorry again about the egg.

if there is a smell coming from the egg, and or bubbles coming from it, its gone sadly
