First time incubating I had 10 eggs and on day 21 (18th Sept) I had one egg hatch but no sign from others. Last night I candled the remaining eggs (unsure if I was wrong to do this) but found that 4 out 9 were no good. The remaining 5 looked full, one I seen movement but no internal pip.

How much longer should I leave them? I’ve read to put hole in air pocket to help them, is this right? Just looking for advice with being first time.

I've hatched over 500 silkies this year, and never put a hole in any of them. Not saying that doesn't work in some instances though, just I've never found the need.

If your temp has been a steady 99.5°F, and humidity is around 65-70%, then they should hatch on their own.

I suspect the temperature is off if you're seeing movement, but it's two days behind the first one.

Do you have a separate hygrometer/thermometer to check the settings on your incubator?

I haven’t, I was very trusting with the new incubator which I think was huge mistake on my behalf. Definitely learning alot for next time!
