We have 9 eggs on lockdown and they haven't even chirped; none of the eggs have moved or started pipping.
Admittedly, my mum has been doing all sorts of things (opening the incubator, taking the eggs, moving them, etc) and I'm pretty sure her fiddling's played a part in the chicks not hatching, but the temperature of the incubators has fluctuated a little bit (we bought cheap incubators)
My mum says that she candled them and they were all moving. We're lost on what to do. Should we just keep waiting? If the chicks are still alive, I don't want to have them die because we didn't do anything, but at the same time I don't really want to do something like trying to make a hole in the egg and have the chick bleed to death.
Advice?

They will hatch or they won't. There isn't really a lot you can do.
The effectiveness of the incubator is important but even more important is the accuracy of the thermometer.
Since they are still alive and already 2 days late, you can be assured that the temperature has been at least one degree low throughout and possibly more, regardless of the thermometer reading.

My mum wants to try and put a hole in one of the eggs. I'd assume that's ill-advised? We have experience with hatching eggs, but my mother really isn't the best decision maker.

just an update, one of the chicks suddenly hatched today, 4 have pipped
i wasn't there but my mum said one of the eggs had blood oozing out of it, but the rest are fine. one of them is pretty close to hatching, too. though, my mum has been constantly opening the incubator to hold the chick -.-

Move the chick to a Brooder and stop touching the eggs.
