Today is day 23 for my silkies I am hatching. It's my first go at it. I candled them yesterday after several YouTube videos lol and 5 outta 7 you could see moving around in the egg and they had good air pockets on the big side. The other 2 had blood rings around them and so I removed them. I have my heat set on 99.7 and my humidity is at 70%. I havent noticed any cracks or Marks in the eggs yet and when I candled them and seen them moving around you could see veins in the eggs as well. Is this normal for these small eggs. Any advice would help!

UPDATE FROM THIS MORNING!!!!
I CHECKED MY EGGS looking through the roof of the incubator and one of them has a small chip in its shell around the bigger end of the shell! Gonna try to post a pic!

They pipping externally just give them time to hatch u did well getting the bloodring ones out as they can explode affecting incubator and other eggs keep us updated xx they can take a while to hatch lol xx

I woke up this morning and you can see his tiny neck poking through the hole nd the sweetest little chirping! How do you know when they need help to get out just to be safe?

It finally hatched!! Our power had went out bc they are changing the poles right as the chick had gotten half the shell open so I run my incubator gently as possible to the yard in the sunlight shortly after it was out! The egg was still slightly attached but then fell off. Its chirping and stumbling but when I just checked again it's still chirping and moving around but you can see a blood tint and droplings in the water reservoir. Is this normal?! I'm worried this is my very first chick I've ever hatched!

Yes that's normal. Sometimes they are still attached to the egg and when that does come away they can bleed a little. Hopefully it stopped quickly and your baby is well on the way to being fluffed up.

Thankyou unfortunately my other 3 eggs didnt hatch yet and today is day 25. I'm going to candle them one more time when I take the silkie chick from the incubator and see if they are viable.
