Sounds like it was fully developed but just didn't hatch for some reason. I would candle again tonight just to double check before tossing it.

Yes I will definitely check before just throwing it away.

Managed to get a video. Its still alive. It takes up the whole egg except for about a half inch of air sac at the end

The video is a bit deceiving. The air sac starts at the bottom and is too bright to be seen, and the shadow on the right side of the egg is an illusion. The chick inside takes up all of the egg and all that can be seen is a small amount just above the air sac where the vein is.

It must be one that was added to the nest later in incubation. Looks like it's about day 17 or so from that video. Still some time left to go on it before it hatches.

Any idea what could be going on with this one? She either stole it or one of the other hens snuck in there when she was eating. We aren’t sure when this happened. Its still alive too but has this weird air sac.

I was in exactly your position yesterday! My eggs were late and I was freaking out. I say just wait. Mama hens know what to do. (although I failed to follow this advice myself! I should have!)

My husband was checking the egg and our hen bit him hard and he dropped it only a couple of inches but a very small piece of the shell chipped off.

Could you post a pic of the chip? Which egg, the one that you were talking to Pyxis about? if so keep the membrane "moist" put some coconut oil on it.
