Day 23... why didn't they hatch???

It's day 23... on day 20, I had two eggs hatch, and my remaining 7 eggs did nothing for 3 days, so today I decided to pitch them. I cracked all 7 open, and the first one had never developed, or was infertile... it was too dark an egg for me to see this earlier while candling.... The remaining 6 eggs all had fully formed baby chicks, who were dead, and had never even pipped. I know that this happens.... but... WHY?!?!? and why so many??? 2 hatched, 6 died in the shell??? why!!!???

With fully formed chicks it's usually either humidity or ventilation. And since I can't see your set up, I can't tell you what it was. But those are the first two most important things at hatch. Air to breathe and humidity that doesn't make it impossible to hatch.

Did you calibrate/ check the accuracy of your hygrometer?

What was your actual RH?

What is your ventilation like?

Any temp spikes? Or prolonged drops?
