Day 24 and 1 Pip

Well I had a very successful hatch last year with a styrobator with no circulating air and no turner and no hydrometer! It was in a completely different part of the house and a different month. Where it is now is way downstairs in an area where there is a wood stove running full steam. Last time it was May and no stove going and way upstairs where it was naturally warm during the day--not sure about natural humidity. I work at home as well (daycare and medical transcription) and can babysit it. Maybe I'll try again with some of my own eggs.

I had one successfully hatch last night and 1 has pipped this morning on day 25. I think that's all I'll get though. Glad there's at least 2 so there's a buddy, and I'm going to try to find a few more locally so they can be a gang. I did water test last night and had lots of floaters with no wobbling and a few that did wobble, but those are quiet this morning, so I'm thinking they passed.

Thanks again for your knowledge and encouragement!

I find it easier in the spring-fall when I can run dry. We heat with wood pellets and it makes the house significantly dryer. My bator is upstairs though where it stays more consistant temp wise. Good luck with the new ones and I hope you can find a few more locally!!

Oh, I think you're right!! The 48-egg fully automatic Brinsea. I'll tell him you said so!
