Due to some major shipping delays, I had to start eggs 2 days apart in the incubator. I'm pretty sure the first set (Polish and Silkies day 23) are not going to hatch. I have 22 other eggs that are on day 21 today, and I'm hearing chirping!!
Should I remove the first red air plug now?
I honestly thought that after losing 7 eggs this hatch was doomed. I was really excited about the silkies too. I followed everything to the letter. I candled sparingly, I moved them on day 18, I monitored the humidity and temp with primary and secondary measurement tools, I let the eggs rest for 24 hours, I let the incubator run for 24 hours. I washed my hands before handling or moving out of the egg turner. I did everything that I know-how.
I'm not seeing movement or pips, but I'm hearing at least one little guy in there!
