In the Brooder
Hi,
I have 6 Jersey Giant eggs in my incubator at the moment. It is day 24 and none of them have shown any signs of hatching - no rolling, no pips. I know Jersey Giants can take longer to hatch than most chickens because they are so large, but 24 days still seems a bit long. I am starting to worry they aren't going to hatch. I candled them a few days ago and 5/6 seemed to have a chick developing inside them. My humidity has been as low as 50% during lockdown and as high as 80% (for short periods of time, before I lowered it to about 65%.) I thought maybe as the humidity has been a bit low they may be struggling to hatch. Do you think they will hatch or how much longer I should leave the eggs in the incubator?
Many thanks,
