Day 24, no signs of Life

I am so bummed out...3 of my eggs hatched on the 19th and 20th day, but nothing has happened since then. I have 6 eggs just laying there. The 3 that hatched are into everything. I took the paper towels up today, and they have been eating pine bedding all day. I think they prefer it to their starter food. And fight!! God I hope they're not all roos. If nothing happens tomorrow, I'm going to candle the eggs again. Someone said to float the egg in warmer water and watch for ripples, which would indicate a heart beating. Would it be ok to do that? I feel very helpless at this point...

Yes, do the float test. You can do it now.

I tried the float test on a few of our eggs. There were no ripples and it sunk, so I cracked it open. There was live, very tiny chick in it and I was very sad. Maybe I didn't do the test right or something. The chick may not have survived anyway, but that is tough.

Yeah, nothing is perfect, but if you're going to toss the egg, it is at least one more way to try to determine viability.
