So sorry to hear about the eggs.I agree with egghead jr. I've hatched out many batches myself and none have been 100% but all have been at least 60%. I use my friend's cheap Styrofoam incubator with the automatic turner. I would not blame the deformed one on yourself. I have never heard of temps causing tumors. Temps & humidity factors can be responsible for spraddle leg, curled toes, shrink wrap and other types of problems, but not tumors. Caring for chickens is a learning experience, every day. Thanks for all the support! The other eggs had no further growth and no more movement on the float test either. I bought a digital hygrometer/thermometer from amazon so I will hopefully be able to get the temps calibrated in the next week to start over again. Incubation is so much harder compared to my broody hen!
I won't give up just yet
