Hi Guys,
Any candling experts out there able to tell me if this egg on day 25 is viable? I did the float test and it looks like it was good, see pic not sure if that’s a blood ring but also don’t want to throw it if it may still hatch? No movement it’s just all black.

Ps there’s also a weird bubbly you can see in pic that floats around inside near air sac.

What exactly is the float test? Floating any old egg in a glass to see if it floats only tells you it is an old egg with a large intact air cell, fertile or not. Water candling is floating the egg in 100F water and watching for any bobbing which says it is alive, sedately floating is not. Your egg developed but it is very hard to say if it is still alive with regular candling. A cold incubator can significantly slow hatching but if the rest have hatched and it is 48 hours since your last pip/zip/chick you may want to water candle (very carefully) if you haven’t.

Thankyou I cracked the egg and it was rotten, no development. :(
