Day 25...Time to Toss, head to feedstore

Well, today is officially Day 25 and I'm going to have to admit defeat.

My other egg is just not gonna hatch.

Mama had it moved slightly out from under her when I looked in this morning but quickly moved it back under.

Its ok, I am happy one hatched and it gives me an excuse to head to the feed store!

Baby chicks get in today! I love the little tubs of chickies to choose from.

That's too bad. I have a broody due to hatch 2 eggs today so I'm on pins and needles! Pretty cold to be hatching babies. Silly Cochin.

Karimw...good luck! I started with 6 and got one little biddy. I think I'm more proud of this little ONE than if more had hatched. Your hen in beautiful, btw.

Tanichka: Yes, I'm more than aware of the danger lurking in the chickie bins at the feedstore. That's what happened with my first batch. I just took anything they had...this time I've done my research and have planned the breeds carefully. That said, I'm sure I can always be convinced to go over the number I've been allotted for this spring (by the "Man in charge") by one or 2 (or 3 or:....

).

Have to remember I ordered those 2 Fleur de Uccles coming in March too....
