It’s the 26th day and we’ve had an egg pipped for 24hours. Should I assist? Also a few other eggs moving. Why would this be so late?

A few things
The heat reading could have been off causing a delay
It’s hard to tell but is that baby outside the air cell ?
If so then you treat the pip time wise like a normal egg
I don’t do chicks so I’m not certain on times but for my ducklings
It’s internal 24
External 24 then if nothing you help
If it misses the air cell and goes straight to external then it becomes 48 hours
I know chicks are faster but I don’t know exact times
My ducks are just an example

Its beak has been poking out since last night.

Ok if the beak is out, it's external. It will take a bit to start zipping, sometimes 24hrs for "hatch".... Patience.

21 days is a guide and some give it an extra few days (good that you did). "Late" hatching can be due to fluctuation in temps during incubation, ambient temps affect this as does humidity.

I believe it’s outside the air cell
Ok
I know that means the time will be longer but I don’t know how long chicks usually take
I have helped many ducklings but I don’t want to give wrong advice and put the baby in jeopardy
I did tag a few others
Hopefully somebody comes to help

Ok. However, the beak has been out for 24 hours.
