Day 26 pipped

Thank you @Kiki for fast response ...

Oh, is the beak moving? You said you "few others eggs are moving" ... what is your humidity ?
Humidity is showing around 60%. Ive tried to get it to go higher. I don’t think it’s reading correctly either. I’m getting a new incubator because I’m not happy with this one right now. Another egg is moving and yes the beak is Moving also.

Having calibrated thermometer and hygrometer make a big difference In keeping things where they need to be
Most bators even the really hood ones aren’t correct and many that hatch use calibrated ones
Hopefully these guys hatch for you
I’ll keep checking in to see how things go. Good luck :)

It's recommended to "calibrate" the incubator with a hydrometer other than depending on the incubators. But then you calibrate the hydrometer first. Have you incubated with your present one in the past or is this the first time?

Wait for @Kiki ... She and I have had a late night hatching experience years ago, long distance :lau Incubating really does teach PATIENCE ... I know it's difficult to" leave it alone" ... the humidity is too low, should be about 70 - 75%, you can add a moisten sponge to raise humidity.

As for whether you should assist, your choice at this point ... It really should be zipping IF it's been 24hrs pipped. Peel back the shell a bit more, NOT the membrane but moisten the membrane with some coconut oil and give it more time. It's a late hatch and it's moving ... I'd rather it hatch at it's own time than assist.

You've assisted ducklings, so it's really your call. :hugs

I did calibrate it unfortunately I was have some issues with it around the 15th day. I may try to assist carefully

So i I started to assist. Cracked some of the shell off and it went fine. I peeled a little bit of the membrane and seen some blood. What’s everyone’s opinion?

If you see blood then wait another 3-4 hours and check again
You can wet the membrane with either coconut oil or Vaseline
I use a q tip to put it on the membrane
I prefer the Vaseline as it last 2-3 hours and the oil only lasts 1-2
That means you can leave the egg alone for longer periods

This is the egg now. What’s your opinions? The tire part is where I tried to carefully help it out but started to see blood so immediately stopped last night.

Okay so let's go back to the initial advice you were given:
If it misses the air cell and goes straight to external then it becomes 48 hours
I know chicks are faster but I don’t know exact times
My ducks are just an exexample
If its outside the air cell, wait 48 hours because this is the equivalent of an internal pip.

I believe it’s outside the air cell
You believe it is outside of the aircell. So you should have waited longer than 24 hours. If you start to unzip the egg, and there is bleeding. Stop.

You've assisted quite a lot, and exposed so much membrane, so the first step is to moisten the membrane and then wait for the veins to recede. Then wait for the chick to stop yawning/chewing with its beak to ensure the yolk is all absorbed. Please do not assist anymore until we can confirm it is ready.

I get assisted hatching can be difficult, and stressful, but please read all the information given and be patient
