Day 26 pipping updated: new baby

I have a Japanese Bantam sitting on six eggs.
today is DAy 23.
How long should she sit on them.??
I have read about different days. 21, 24 days.
I don't want to throw out the eggs if they are not done.
she is an indoor bird.
These eggs are from another bird, they are not hers.

Thanks.

Are they chickens or peas? If chickens they are a little overdue. Candle them to see if there is movement. If they are pea eggs, I went and got mine from under the hen on day 25. It hatched on day 26/27.

They are not pea fowl.
AN EGG JUST STARTED TO PEEP.
How long before the chick will die from no air. There is no opening in the egg.
Does pipping mean peeping ?

What should I do

Mine pipped on day 24. You should be fine. It will take a while. Mine took 24 hours to hatch.
Dottie has an egg that is making peep sounds in it. But there is no little hole yet.
How long before they die from no air after they make a peeps sounds in the egg.

I've read it can take up to 12 hrs from internal pip and another 12-24 to hatch. How was your temp and humidity? Lower temp can delay hatches.

Dottie the Japanese bantam is sitting on the eggs.
the eggs feel very warm to the touch.
I don't know about the humidity tho.
I have a steamer I can put in the room where she is at.
should I do that. ?
she has been sitting on them for 23 days.
Today Day 23 that I heard the peep.

Sorry! Duh! Well I guess wait...but you could candle to see if the others have movement. The other section on incubating and hatching will probably have better info for you than me. You can search those threads. Good luck and hope they hatch! :)

mg15,
If you are really concerned about your hatch, you should really be asking for advice on the chicken thread, NOT on the pea thread.
They'll be able to give you better advice over there.

Good luck!
