Hi I'm a new duck hatcher so I have a 26 17ish day old duck eggs I looked yesterday and saw veins and it was very dark I couldn't see any movement from the egg or anything. IS that supposed to be like that? I looked for movement but I literally cant see any movement and am very worried as I have already lost 3 duck eggs due to the weather and cracks.PLEASE TELL ME IF THIS IS OKAY

Hiya, Emily, and welcome to BYC!! :frow

I only hatched duck eggs once and never could see a thing. Hopefully one of our duck eggs experts will pop in.

I do hatch a ton of chicken eggs though and days before they are ready to hatch most times I don't see much, if any, movement. I suppose because there's not much room.

Emily I'm not sure with duck eggs as I've only hatched chicken eggs. This I do know is that they take longer to hatch than chickens and if just may not be time for the to hatch. I recommend that you post in the duck thread here and ask about the schedule of duck development: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/ducks.42/
