Day 27 - started to pip

It’s day 27 and I can hear some faint cheeping so at least one has pipped through the membrane. I’m trying to control myself and not check too often or disturb them but I can see two eggs moving so hoping for an external pip in the next 12 hours!

Non-update.

Still only one egg has broke through the membrane and there’s no sign of external pipping.
Candled using my phone torch without lifting them and can see all of them are wiggling around so at least they’re alive!

Welcome! Ducklings are incredibly slow hatchers so, as hard as it is, try to be patient. Mine usually internally pip one day, externally pip the next, then hatch the next. Waiting is the hardest part.

It is an exciting time. I finally had to set a timer for 3 hours so I wouldn't be tempted to check them every time I walked by. They are slow to hatch. It is hard work so there is going to be periods of time when they are resting

Finally some progress!! 5 of the 6 ducklings have pipped through the membrane and are tapping away at the shell. Sounds like they’re chatting away to each other. I thought the one that had pipped internally yesterday would be closer to hatching than the others but it seems the others have more energy for hatching. Or maybe I just caught it resting.
The egg that hasn’t pipped yet is still active and trying!! Yeyyyy one step closer
