Day 35 Indian Runner Eggs

oh yay for the internal pip!

That air pocket in the video looks awfully big to me. I don't have enough experience to tell you what is going on inside unfortunately

In this other thread, @Apartmentduck is currently attempting an assist... maybe they can share some of their experience so far with you

Yes 100%. It’s been on lockdown for 6 days! I just wish I knew what to do.

I think at this point it’s deciding whether you want to assist or leave it up to “nature”

Personally for the one that pipped, I would make a hole just big enough to see if it’s shrink wrapped... but that’s just me, who has zero experience in assisted hatching 😅

I made a safety hole but hard to see anything

Can you hear anything? when did it pip? is there still movement?

I guess I’d give it the full 48 hours before exploring further.
I read about chickens hatching 2 weeks late on the forum... so who knows.

I’m not sure about the one you candled though, sorry :( I wish there was someone with more experience who can help you

edit: I just watched the video again, and I think I see movement on the bottom.
hrnnng I don't know. I just read a bunch of late duck hatch threads on here, quite a few were unanswered, most of them are incomplete... and none of them reported back with a successful hatch. I think the main concern is, even with a successful assisted hatch, would the bird have health issues due to the incubation problems.

I found this article a very good read

Looking good honestly leave them alone for 24 hours at least. Now you know they won’t suffocate because they have direct access to fresh oxygen. You may get nervous they are dead. It’s okay I’m in a similar boat and I’m just as nervous. We can only do so much for these guys they gotta meet us half way.
