I just candled I know turkey eggs are so hard to see through. I took one of my heating lamps and covered it with cardboard and I could see through it better then I did with my flashlight. I could see a enlarged yolk and what looked like veining. Do turkeys develop just like chicken eggs even though it takes them longer? Anyone have a page that has pics of candled turkey eggs at day 5 and on?

I've got my first set of turkey eggs in the hatcher...due Friday. I couldn't see anything "good" with candling until day 10. It takes longer to see veining in them because of their incubation period.

they are thick shelled. using a high candle power flash light will help.
you can buy one at Home Depot or similar stores.

it works during the daylight even in goose eggs!

blessings for a great hatch!

Ok I will wait untill day 10 and try it again. My temp siked to 104 yesterday for no telling how long before I caught it so I am a bit worried and my humidity has been going crazy for unknow reasons. I add just a tad of water and it shoots to 70-80 when its dry it runs 30. So today I am gonna let it drop to 20 and then add water slowly not sure whats going on with the humidity.
