Day 56 and don't know what to do or think????

Okay, day 56. I'm not sure what is going on. Did my egg develop or am I making a soft boiled emu egg?

Odd, the egg rolls to one side while sitting still. I'm not sure if that means someone is in there or not? I don't hear anything? I don't know if I should sit it on the counter and stare at it for an hour and see if it does or does not move? Is he in there but not alive?

SO CONFUSED!

Can anyone help me through this confusing and important emu time? If nothing happens, how long do I keep it in before I throw in the towel and say it's a dud?

Wish I could help, but I just set My first Emu Eggs yesterday. But if the egg moves on its own, then most likely it is alive and getting ready to hatch.

This site states that it takes 48 to 52 weeks is that a different type of Emu?

I found other sights that claim that it actually takes 56 days. If you touch the top and the bottom of the egg and if it is still warm that is a good indicator that the emu is still alive.

That has to be a typo. Days, not weeks. I would NOT want to be around a dud egg that was incubated for almost an entire year! I'd guess if you're getting movement, that's a great sign. Maybe your temps were a bit low and hatching was delayed like sometimes happens with chickens?

If it's rolling on it's own, it's alive. Is your incubator temperature a tad low?

Jeeze 21 days is far too long for even me to wait, I am cringing at day 18, already to candle by day 21 I am glued to the bator and no one I mean no one is allowed to speak. LOL

It is warm on both sides. I put the egg in the bator after checking this morning. It moved back to the side that it wants to lay on?? I am sitting with it on my ottoman watching to see if there is anything going on. How long do I stare at it? If I listen for peeps, when will I hear them? Are they super quiet since the egg is so thick? I know with chicken that you can't help them out. I just want to magically peek inside and see what happens

X-ray. This is too much to deal with. I wish I could candle my little baby (or hard boiled wish it was a baby) egg
