I just candled my Day 6 incubator of 24 Silkies, Polish, and Hudan.
Threw away 7.
Three had blood rings, two looked infertile, two looked scrambled. These were White Crested black Polish, white silkies, buff silkies, and Blue.
There are three others in the incubator that I moved to the "Suspicious" tray.
Throwing out that many is a perfect example for my husband on why I start out with so many.
I havent candled the Day 8 and 9 eggs- they are the blue eggs, and the button quail. With the blues, I have little luck on seeing in them until later.
edit to add:
I just tried to candle those- and really, I could only tell one was good. Sure hope I am wrong, because that would be very very sad.
