Two more weeks to go. None of the eggs looked clear, but some were very tough to tell. I used a mini-maglite and it was just hard to see through the RIR shells. All of the silkies seem to be developing, although the air cell seems to be in a strange place on one of them. So I hoping for a good hatch in two weeks of silkies, RIR and BO from Jody. Does anyone have a link that shows what a blood ring looks like? This is fun.

Beside the blood ring, I would look for veins. At 7 days, you should see veining.

Sounds good so far. I wouldn't judge any blood rings unless they are really obvious at 7 days. I have already confused a vein for blood ring on eggs that are hard to see in. I usually don't candle until day 10 because the veins are much stronger and easy to see visually by then. Good luck with the hatch.

Its a red ring inside the egg that is not a vein. It means that there was bacteria in the egg.
