I have 4 fertile black sex-link eggs. This is candling at day 9. I was just enthralled to see movement with my crappy led flashlight and wanted to share :) Pardon the parrots making noise, they were excited too!

Very cool. I love it when I see them move! Gives me so much hope for a good hatch. I know it doesn’t ensure a good hatch but I hold out hope when I see that movement.

I wanted to post an update on my 4 fertile eggs. I have learned that they are hybrid-hybrid (black sex-link hen and a golden comet rooster) so mutts, really. They will just be pets and I have no rooster so no intention of continuing any sort of breeding lineage with them. I'm sure any professional breeders reading this are cringing right now. But I am very curious to see what color chicks come out of these eggs.

Today is day 20 and all 4 eggs are doing well. I know you're not supposed to open the incubator at all, but I've got them in a room where I'm able to control the temperature and humidity separately from the rest of the house and is kept warm and humid. None of the eggs have externally pipped yet. 2 have pipped into their air cell and 2 have yet to do so, but all 4 are alive and moving. This is my first experience hatching chicken eggs and I'm getting very excited.

I know not to count them before the hatch, but I will post another update in a few days.
